With the launch of EMC ViPR 2.0 I figured i would update my install in the lab and publish my notes here. The basics are still the same as 1.0 and 1.1 but the interface is slightly differnt.
This is the first in a series to deploy and configure ViPR 2.0 for Block (VNS), file (Isilon) and Object (HDFS)
Discover Physical Assets Isilon and VNX
Create Virtual Arrays and Pools
Authentication Providers and Users
Deploy and Configure Object Services
Deploy
In your vCenter client click deploy ovf and using the wizard browse to the location of the ViPR ovf
Details of the ovf. Click Next
Accept the license agreement. Click Next
Choose a folderto deploy the vAPP. Click Next
Choose a data store to deploy to. Click Next
Accept the format. Click Next
Choose the network. Click Next
Enter the VIP and IP for your vAPP. this is a 1+0 configuration so there will only be 1 Controller vm. Click Next
Review your settings. Click Finish. ViPR will deploy
Using the public VIP, logon to the Vipr appliance (https://Virtual_IP_Address) using a browser. The initial credential are root for the user, and ChangeMe for the password

CONFIGURE
Browse to the location of your license file. Click Upload License
Next set the initial settings
Change the default root password
Enter your systme password
Click Next
Enter DNS and NTP server IPS
Enter ConnectEMC infro (this can be blank)
Enter SNMP info
Click Finish
the settings are pushed to the vAPP
After the push is finished you can see the ViPR 2.0 dashboard
Could you tell me how can you download the 1+0 controller file, I just can download at least 2+1 or 3+2 from EMC webiste
